Turkey requires unique product codes - HIBC fulfills the conditions.
The "HÜAP-Data Base" was introduced recently as a "benchmarking" project with the Australian system in the health sector. It is designed for various administrative tasks: registration of the products, reference to administrative settlements, etc.
In the bar code, the system relies on the "UPN (Universal Product Code) concept " with HIBC and GS1/EAN, which is practiced in the United States for years as well. It does not limit to a singular nor numberic system only. For HIBC speaks the alphanumeric structure. With HIBC the labeler is on the safe side avoiding re-labeling or additional referenz numbers.
